Silver Jewellery Making Courses
A registered craft jeweller with the Craft Council of Ireland and award winner for design and workmanship, fully insured to run jewellery courses as set up by the Craft Council of Ireland. The small workshop, which has space for only six students with basic equipment, are all under my personal supervision .The intention is to give an insight to designing and making handmade jewellery, to a student's own personal design. |

Saturday Art Classes with Georgina Maher
Children Art Classes each Saturday in Cumann Ioseaf, Balloonagh Tralee, time 11:00 - 12:30 and 1:00 - 2:30. Boys and girls age from 5 - 10 welcome to a wonderful socal outlet for children to make new friends in a warm, bright and friendly atmosphere. The classes have been running since early 2007 and children enjoy doing paper crafts, clay, painting and make and do for all seasons. Our Village nestles on the banks of the Clarin River at the mouth of Dunbulcan Bay, enriching tides flow through the estuary and under the arches of the old stone bridge from which the village takes its name. |

Carnival of Colour
Banbridge will come alive with a breath-taking bevy of colourful costumes and Mardi Gras style music on Saturday, 11th September, 2-4pm as Banbridge District Council's newest cross-community event takes to the streets. The 'Carnival of Colour' begins at Newry Street Roundabout and culminates in Solitude Park. Expect a little bit of 'Rio' to wind its way through the streets with a marvellous Mardi Gras style parade including spirited Samba Bands, Chinese Dragon Dances, Cuban Salsa music and dancing plus Brazilian Drummers and dancers in full plumage. There's also a wide range of fun-filled activities and attractions such as a mini fun fair, salsa dancing, crafts, percussion and circus skills workshops which will be located in all areas of the park to keep visitors of all ages entertained throughout the afternoon. The event is part-funded by the EU's PEACE III Programme. |

Bat Walk
These Bat Walks begin with an illustrated talk on Bats, dispelling all of the myths and detailing just how marvellous these tiny mammals really are. Followed by guided bat walk with use of Bat Boxes (which allows you to hear the bats, hunt, and communicate with each other) around Belvedere parkland. Walk is weather permitting (bats are far too sensible to be out in the wet or cold!). Wear warm clothing sensible footwear and bring a small torch. Entry is free, donations if desired to Bat conservation Ireland. |

The Galway Oyster Festival has evolved from very modest beginnings. In September 1954, 34 guests attended the very first Oyster Festival Banquet. The idea presented itself when in 1953, Brian Collins, manager of the Great Southern Hotel was facing a bleak September with a deserted hotel. |
