Virginia Pumpkin Festival
The first Virginia Pumpkin festival held over the October Bank Holiday in 2007 proved to be a fantastic success bringing crowds of up to ten thousand people to the picturesque east cavan town. The festival kicked off on Friday night when the town lights were extinguished and the glow of candle lit carved pumpkins illuminated the parade of brazillian dancers and fire throwers which made their way through the crowded street to the main stage on the square |

Silver Jewellery Making Courses
A registered craft jeweller with the Craft Council of Ireland and award winner for design and workmanship, fully insured to run jewellery courses as set up by the Craft Council of Ireland. The small workshop, which has space for only six students with basic equipment, are all under my personal supervision .The intention is to give an insight to designing and making handmade jewellery, to a student's own personal design. |

Saturday Art Classes with Georgina Maher
Children Art Classes each Saturday in Cumann Ioseaf, Balloonagh Tralee, time 11:00 - 12:30 and 1:00 - 2:30. Boys and girls age from 5 - 10 welcome to a wonderful socal outlet for children to make new friends in a warm, bright and friendly atmosphere. The classes have been running since early 2007 and children enjoy doing paper crafts, clay, painting and make and do for all seasons. Monthly Craft Fair
Our craft fair takes place on the first Saturday of each month (excluding January) in the Belmont area of East Belfast. Admission to the public is FREE, so why not pop in and have a browse around. With space for 17 crafters on the ground floor and 4 on the first floor, and a small outdoor food market, there is a wide range of goods at affordable prices. |

Deer Rut Watch
11am to 4pm. Directions can be got from the Information Office, Upper Lake, Glendalough. Take a walk in Glendalough, and stop en route to see the deer. National Parks & Wildlife Service Guides shall have telescopes set up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will be available to discuss the deer and their ecology. Suitable for all ages. Getting to the scopes will involve a hike, but shall be along one of the way-marked routes. Please note, that participants will not be escorted on the walk. Culchie Festival
All roads lead to lovely Leitrim for the October Bank holiday Weekend. This year Mohill has be selected as the venue for 2010 culchie festival. This year is a very special year as the festival will host its 21st birthday party. The events calendar is packed brim full of fun events which will include The Leitrim Super Gran competition, Matchmaking of Culchies and festival escorts, The Culchie a la Crème competition, the King of the Culchies competition, Junior Culchie competition, The Women in Wellies competition. The Great Honda 50 Run(charity motorbike run)will take place on Sunday the 24 0ctober and will take in some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland as it journery’s through the highways and byways of Leitrim. The festival will be overseen by the current King Leo Finn from Galway. |

Bat Walk - (Halloween Twist!!!)
These Bat Walks begin with an illustrated talk on Bats, dispelling all of the myths and detailing just how marvellous these tiny mammals really are. Followed by guided bat walk with use of Bat Boxes (which allows you to hear the bats, hunt, and communicate with each other) around Belvedere parkland. Walk is weather permitting (bats are far too sensible to be out in the wet or cold!). Wear warm clothing sensible footwear and bring a small torch. Entry is free, donations if desired to Bat conservation Ireland. |
