11am to 4pm. Directions can be got from the Information Office, Upper Lake, Glendalough. Take a walk in Glendalough, and stop en route to see the deer. National Parks & Wildlife Service Guides shall have telescopes set up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will be available to discuss the deer and their ecology. Suitable for all ages. Getting to the scopes will involve a hike, but shall be along one of the way-marked routes. Please note, that participants will not be escorted on the walk. These Bat Walks begin with an illustrated talk on Bats, dispelling all of the myths and detailing just how marvellous these tiny mammals really are. Followed by guided bat walk with use of Bat Boxes (which allows you to hear the bats, hunt, and communicate with each other) around Belvedere parkland. Walk is weather permitting (bats are far too sensible to be out in the wet or cold!). Wear warm clothing sensible footwear and bring a small torch. Entry is free, donations if desired to Bat conservation Ireland.
