The cottage was originally an 18th century farmhouse built from the local stone. It overlooks Barleycove Beach, Crookhaven Harbour and the islands beyond. Self contained within its old stone walls are a series of small gardens and an old slate patio looking South, offering both shelter and tranquillity.

Located on the Mizen Peninsula, the most South Westerly part of Ireland, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean it is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the coast of Europe.

Facilities:

Newly restored by the local architect it offers every modern facility whilst retaining the charm of its origins. A wooden floor and an open beamed ceiling to the ground floor accommodate the large open plan living room and kitchen, with a shower room off. An old cast iron spiral stairs leads to the first floor bedrooms, where under the timber roof are double and twin bedded rooms, giving fantastic views over the fields down to the sea.

Additional Information:

Within easy reach can be found some of the best restaurants in Europe. Local bars also provide excellent seafood lunch menus and impromptu entertainment 'Irish style' at night. You can walk through an unspoiled landscape or visit the nearby villages. Take a boat to the Islands, or visit the beautiful County of Kerry or you can just relax, destress and listen to the birdsong and the tranquil sound of the sea.
